Marketing Internship

BROADWAY IN HOLLYWOOD UNDERGRADUATE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

WINTER 2024 / 25 INTERNSHIPS • DEC 2, 2024 – FEB 28, 2025

Broadway in Hollywood, the premiere presenter of touring Broadway in Los Angeles, is offering undergraduate student PAID & college/university credit internships for WINTER 2024 / 25 onsite at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. Interns will work directly with the Broadway in Hollywood marketing team to get hands-on experience and training in live entertainment marketing, publicity, promotions, research, and events. Opportunities may include but are not limited to: market research; assisting at press and special events, coordination of partner promotions, and opening night red carpets. Additionally, interns will also help with coordinating digital and print collateral needs for touring Broadway shows; and content creation for social media. General knowledge of Broadway shows is encouraged, but not required.

 

PAID INTERNSHIPS | ACADEMIC CREDIT

Paid Internships are also applicable for academic credit at the intern’s college / university. Internships are paid $17.28 per hour. Parking is provided. If applying to also satisfy academic credit, you must submit official documentation of eligibility from your college/university.

 

AVAILABILITY & SCHEDULING

Scheduling is flexible, but candidates MUST be available to work onsite at least 3 weekdays for a total of 20 hours maximum for a work week. DO NOT APPLY IF MINIMUM AVAILABILITY REQUIREMENTS CANNOT BE MET. Some weekend and evening availability for events is a plus, but not required. PR & Social Media Coordinator

Broadway in Hollywood seeks a PR & Social Media Coordinator

MUST LOVE BROADWAY.

Broadway in Hollywood at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, the premiere presenter of touring Broadway in Los Angeles, seeks an energetic, forward-thinking, team-oriented self-starter to join our Marketing & Communications team as a PR & Social Media Coordinator.

The position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and will primarily assist with the coordination of press and social media.

The culture is extremely energetic and collaborative.  The neighborhood and offices are lively and can be loud at times.  The Marketing & Communications team currently consists of 5 full-time individuals as well as 2-3 temporary part-time staff and/or interns at any given time working in a large semi-open workspace.

Position: PR & Social Media Coordinator

Department: Marketing & Communications

Reports to: Director of Marketing & Communication

Job Type: Full-Time IN OFFICE /Non-exempt

Schedule:  10am-6:30pm, Monday – Friday, occasion required weekend and special events

Travel: may need to travel occasionally to events

Compensation: $23 per hour

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with execution of press coverage, such as in person and online interviews, in studio appearances, and press junkets.
  • Coordinate the social media strategy in tandem with the Marketing team and in concert with the overall marketing strategy.
  • Organize, maintain, and execute an editorial calendar that tracks press hits and social media posting plans (organic and paid) such as individual show benchmarks (casting, opening, on sales, offers, unique dates), partner posts, and community news.
  • Identify sources of content and assist with content creation for social media.  These include, but are not limited to, the historic Hollywood Pantages Theatre itself, show specific materials (many of which are pre-packaged and provided by the shows we present), amplification of press hits, influencer content, and partner promotions, special events we organize or attend, the Broadway community at large, and Hollywood (neighborhood and broader entertainment community).
  • Attend on-site and off-site press events, marketing events and other promotional events and organize real-time social coverage.
  • Monitor social media accounts, engage with followers, respond accordingly, and relay action items or customer service issues to appropriate parties.
  • Act as liaison to stakeholders within the organization and with individual show press & marketing representatives to pitch ideas and secure approvals.
  • Additional duties as required

There is a tremendous opportunity for immersion and growth in this position. You will learn from seasoned entertainment business professionals within the Nederlander Organization, the Broadway touring industry, the media companies and businesses with whom we partner on a regular basis.  You will be exposed to press representatives, marketing directors, and talent from touring shows presented by Broadway in Hollywood at the Pantages Theatre and other venues.

DESIRED SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • LOVER and CONSUMER OF BROADWAY SHOWS AND LIVE THEATRE as well as an interest in Broadway history and the Broadway industry.
  • Willing to learn and grow.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a professional capacity working in PR and social media.
  • General understanding and knowledge of social media coordination and scheduling using tools such as Hootsuite and digital calendar programs.
  • Team oriented.
  • Extremely well organized, detail oriented, and adept at scheduling and coordination.
  • Clear and concise communicator – verbally and in writing.
  • General knowledge of the Los Angeles market – its demographics, geography, happenings, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Interested in marketing to consumers and engaging with the public.
  • Basic computer skills and willingness to learn how to manage our website, app, email system and more.

Building Maintenance | Porter

The Hollywood Pantages Theatre, located in Hollywood, California, seeks experienced full-time Building Maintenance/Porter. Participates in a broad range of building cleaning and maintenance that allow the safe operation and efficiency of the theatre and office building as well as maintain the theatre’s historical integrity.

Job-Type: Part-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, may occasionally work on weekends.

Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

Compensation: $18-19 per hour  

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in building maintenance or a related field preferred
  • Ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as necessary
  • Basic knowledge of cleaning and janitorial procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify and address maintenance issues promptly
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Basic proficiency in using technology such as smartphones or tablets for communication and reporting purposes

 Responsibilities:

  • Assist in coordinating service requests, conducting preventive maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, managing supplies and parts inventories, overseeing purchases, and coordinating turn-key operations.
  • Set up and dismantle arrangements for special events
  • Provide support to contracted workers or companies responsible for building maintenance, repairs, and groundskeeping.
  • Perform various general repairs including painting, wall patching, and changing light bulbs
  • Assembles work desks, chairs, hangs pictures, etc. for departments
  • Conduct basic cleaning of office, building, and street areas
  • Ability to operate power tools
  • Ability to assemble and move furniture.
  • Work independently to efficiently complete assigned task
  • Possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Moderate. Tasks involve bending, lifting, walking, carrying, or using a force equal to lifting up to fifty (50) pounds. Ability to drive for pick-ups or deliveries.

Broadway in Hollywood is in search of a highly skilled, experienced Maintenance Technician to join our thriving team at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, one of Los Angeles' leading homes for legitimate theatre.  As the Maintenance Technician, you will perform a wide range of tasks aimed at ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of the historic Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

Job-Type: Full-time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, may occasionally work on weekends.

Reporting to: Maintenance Manager

Compensation: $67,000 per year

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician or in a comparable role.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems along with the necessary knowledge of tools needed to complete the tasks
  • Exhibit proficiency in comprehending and applying technical manuals and drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate physical endurance and manual dexterity necessary for labor-intensive tasks
  • Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks and repairs on company facilities and equipment to ensure operational efficiency

Stage Door Attendant

Broadway in Hollywood seeks a part-time Stage Door Attendant for the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Stage Door Attendant’s primary role is to act as the first point of contact for backstage inquiries, repairs and deliveries, and is a hub for access to the auditorium, lobby and basement of the building.  The Stage Door Attendant is a safety-critical role, responsible for monitoring venue security.  Members of the Stage Door team are responsible for opening and closing the building, ensuring the building is secure at all times and providing a warm welcome to artists, vendors, visitors and Hollywood Pantages staff.

Department: Stage Door

Reports To: Technical Director; Director of Operations; Assistant Production Manager

Job Type: Part-time

Schedule: Stage door typically open from 7am -12am, willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Compensation: Starts at $19 per hour

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep the stage door entrance and work area presentable and functional, ensuring a warm and helpful welcome to artists, staff, vendors and guests.
  • Provide a friendly, clear and well-informed service at all times on the phone, in-person and in writing.
  • Open and close the building.  Perform walkarounds when unlocking and at lock-up to make sure building is secure.
  • Facilitate access for pre-approved 3rd party vendors and contractors to enter theatre.
  • Monitor security cameras to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering the building as well as the exterior activities around the building.
  • Record deliveries sent and received and distribute deliveries received.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the Technical Director or General Management Office.
  • As our business evolves, so may this role. These duties may change as the Hollywood Pantages leadership identifies the need at any time.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Motivated, proactive and willing to think outside of the box.
  • Detail oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills, including effective listening and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.  Stage door is typically open from 7AM to midnight PST regularly.
  • Highly organized, efficient and confident nature.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize a varied workload and work to deadlines.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, timely escalate issues as needed, as well as act on one’s own initiative.
  • Positive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude.
